Concept case study · Demo only

A clearer workflow for a busy repair shop.

Jelta Repair Desk explores how custom software could connect the everyday steps of a repair. This is an illustrative concept with fictional data, not a deployed client project.

01 / The problem

The repair is only part of the job.

A customer wants a price, an expected turnaround and a clear update. Staff need the device details, an approved quote, the right part and a reliable handover. When those details sit in separate notes and messages, the next action can be hard to find.

Jelta’s hands-on repair-industry experience informs this concept. The design asks a practical question: how could one shared job record help the front desk and technicians stay aligned from intake to collection?

02 / Design decisions

Make the next action visible.

One record per repair

Keep the customer, device, reported issue and quote together so a handover does not depend on someone’s memory.

Show why a job is waiting

Separate awaiting approval, awaiting parts and ready for collection. Each state needs a different next action.

Review before sending

Prepare customer updates from the job record, with a staff review step before sending. The demo illustrates the message; it does not send it.

03 / The proposed solution

Solution walkthrough · Concept demo

Jelta Repair Desk

One place to follow a repair from drop-off to collection.

When job details live in spreadsheets, paper notes and messages, staff have to chase quotes and answer the same status questions.

This repair management concept brings customer details, devices, quotes and job progress into one shared workflow for an independent repair shop. It shows how a system could fit the way your team works.

  • Keep the customer, device and repair history together.
  • See what’s awaiting approval, parts or collection.
  • Trigger a customer update when a repair is ready.

04 / Intended business value

Less chasing. More clarity.

These are the benefits the concept is designed to support, to be validated against a shop’s actual workflow. They are not measured results.

Less manual follow-up

Keep outstanding quotes and next actions visible, so staff can see what needs attention without searching through messages.

Clearer job visibility

Bring job status, technician and the next step together so the team can follow each repair from intake to collection.

Faster customer updates

Prepare updates from the job record, giving staff the context to answer customers clearly and consistently.

05 / What comes next

Validate one improvement first.

Before building a live system, map a shop’s existing workflow and choose one bottleneck to pilot: quote follow-up, job visibility or collection updates. Compare time spent on follow-up, unanswered approvals and customer status enquiries before and after the pilot.

A production version would also need staff permissions, customer consent for messages, secure handling of customer data and integration with the shop’s existing tools. Those capabilities are outside this visual concept.
